RIACES has provided a Budget item destined to support the implementation of the Network’s agencies external evaluation. This Program holds in mind the key importance of external evaluation in advancing toward the mutual recognition of the accreditation decisions and, therefore, of the quality of the higher education offer in the different of the Ibero-American Region.
Regional Quality Criteria
Through their participation in RIACES, the institutions responsible of the evaluation and accreditation in the Ibero- American region, established common Regional Quality Criteria of Higher Education. This process is carried out by the agencies, experts and Higher Education Institutions and combines a mutual knowledge and the harmonization of procedures
Up to date, progress has been made in the definition of Regional Quality Criteria in the following subjects: Medicine, Agronomy, Engineering, Specialization and Masters degree in Education in remote instruction mode and PhDs in Basic Science and Biotechnology. In the same way, throughout 2010 two new subjects are planning to be incorporated to the exercises of regional harmonization of procedures.
