Training and exchange of evaluators

RIACES promotes that the member agencies, when they have to designate Evaluation Committees, consider the participation of experts from different countries of the region.

In the same way, the experience of harmonization of Regional Quality Criteria, is undertaken by highly renowned experts that participate as consultants and evaluators. They have been trained in their respective subject, through on-class regional workshop and previous online vinculation activities. Up to date, seventy-five experts have take part on this program, being proposed by the agencies and from different countries.

A different way for the experts to participate in evaluation and accreditation processes is through Observation.

RIACES promotes the participation of observers from other countries in national processes, bearing four purposes in mind:

  • Contribute to the legitimacy of the agencies through the observation of their processes by experts with great experience in the observed field.
  • Provide assistance in the evaluator’s training process through its participation as observers in evaluation committees in agencies that count with a vast trajectory in QA.
  • Support the development of internal quality units in higher education institutions and agencies, by promoting the regional mobility of both experts on certain discipline or in institutional components of Higher Education Institutions.
  • Encourage the cooperation between experts.
